Sunira Chaudhri

Sunira Chaudhri

Founding Partner

Sunira is a litigator and the founder of Workly Law. She practices employment law and represents both employer and employees with respect to wrongful terminations, executive compensation issues, constructive dismissals, partnership disputes and human rights issues. She also represents parties with respect to online work including the negotiation of contracts for content creation, online consulting and social media collaborations. She has represented clients at the Ontario Court of Appeal, Divisional Court, Superior Court of Justice and the Human Rights Tribunal and Human Rights Commission. Sunira attended Osgoode Hall Law School where she obtained her J.D. She started her legal career at a leading Toronto litigation boutique followed by serving as partner at one of Canada’s leading employment law firms. She writes a weekly employment law column at the Toronto Sun, and is a radio panelist on Newstalk 1010 where she comments on employment issues, news and politics. Sunira has also previously served on the Board of Directors of the South Asian Bar Association, Toronto Chapter as Co-Chair of Advocacy in addition to several other roles focusing on community outreach and inclusivity issues in the legal profession. She currently serves on the board of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

Shelby Matthews

Shelby Matthews

Associate Lawyer

Since being called to the bar in 2020, Shelby has exclusively practiced employment law and regularly represents clients in unjust dismissal, wrongful dismissal, and constructive dismissal claims. These cases have involved allegations of cause, concurrent disability claims, and pension valuation issues. Many files have also engaged issues of employee entitlement to bonus, requiring familiarity with principles of contractual interpretation in the employment law context. Additionally, she has experience with discrimination, harassment, and reprisal claims. She has litigated in the Ontario courts including the Divisional Court wherein she achieved a favourable judgment that has been widely cited. Shelby attended the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law where she was a Senior Editor of the Critical Analysis of Law Journal and regularly volunteered in legal clinics through Pro Bono Students Canada. Shelby understands the import of the employment matters facing her clients and approaches each case with diligence and concern. She strives to obtain timely and cost-effective solutions.

Tiana Perricone

Tiana Perricone

Associate Lawyer

Tiana represents both employees and employers in workplace matters such as wrongful dismissals, human rights suits, employment contracts, workplace policies, and Employment Standard Act training materials. Before joining Workly Law, Tiana articled at a boutique employment and labour law firm in Toronto. Tiana obtained her Canadian and American JD, with Honours, from the University of Windsor and Detroit Mercy School of Law. While in law school, Tiana remained active in the law community. She was a legal volunteer at the William Booth Legal Aid Clinic in Detroit, Michigan, providing legal assistance to individuals with limited resources. Tiana was the President of the Windsor Italian Law Association, and a member of several committees including: the Labour and Employment Society, Innocence Canada, Windsor’s High School Outreach Program, and the Sexual Assault Awareness Committee. Prior to law school, Tiana received a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialisation in Law and Business from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University).

Martyn has diverse cross-disciplinary experience, which equips him to offer insightful, pragmatic advice, ensuring that clients are fully informed and well-prepared to navigate the complexities of the workplace. Before joining Workly Law, Martyn gained significant experience in corporate, municipal, and environmental law. His prior roles include positions in manufacturing and regulation. This diverse background has provided him with a unique understanding of the legal needs across multiple sectors. Martyn holds an Honours Bachelor of Science (H.BSc.) in Integrated Sciences from McMaster University and an LLB from the University of Birmingham.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Sureka enjoys reading, exploring new food spots, and traveling to experience different cultures. Music plays a significant role in her life; she is a skilled keyboard player and has completed her teacher’s certification in music.

Sihan is a high-achieving and passionate student in Fanshawe College’s Law Clerk (Co-Op) program. Over the past year, she has completed three school terms, building a strong foundation in legal and professional skills to prepare for work in a law office. She is eager to gain hands-on experience at Workly to supplement her classroom knowledge and is particularly interested in the field of employment and labour law. Prior to her studies at Fanshawe, she earned an Honours Business Administration degree at Ivey Business School, where she held multiple leadership positions in Policy Pitch Association, AIESEC in Western, and Residence Life. With previous experience in customer service and administrative roles, Sihan is looking forward to leveraging her strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and empathy for clients to most effectively support the team.
